Lemons in the room

Lemons in the Room is an Italian health-tech startup founded in Florence (Firenze) in 2024 by Alessandro Napoli, Niccolò Berni, Niccolò Cesareo-Santoro, and Milo Zoppini. The company builds and deploys immersive virtual reality therapy experiences within clinical departments to reduce patient anxiety, stress, and perceived pain during medical treatments and procedures. Their product lineup includes Lemo, a VR experience designed for adult patients emphasizing breathing, calm, and distress reduction, and Lemo Park, an engagement-focused experience tailored for pediatric patients. Both solutions are classified as medical devices and have undergone clinical validation. Pilot deployments at hospitals in Pisa and at OSMA Florence involved over 100 patients, achieving an average satisfaction score above 95%. Published clinical outcomes include a 57.2% reduction in perceived discomfort, 68% reduction in perceived distress, and 64% increase in perceived relaxation, with 92% of clinical staff willing to integrate VR into standard practice. Implementation includes staff training, continuous support, and workflow integration materials. Lemons in the Room was selected for Techstars Torino 2025.
