Leaf Global Fintech began as a response to the global displacement crisis and the problem of millions of people having to carry cash across borders each year. Carrying cash is dangerous, inconvenient, and expensive to exchange, and unbanked people without smartphones are disproportionately affected. The Leaf Wallet is a mobile platform available on smartphones, feature phones, and other devices through apps or a USSD short-code interface, enabling customers to store, send, receive, and exchange currencies domestically and across borders. In 2022, Leaf was acquired by IDT Corporation, and Leaf Wallet functionalities are now available through Boss Money's mobile app and website.
