Kodex AI was founded in 2022 by Claus Lang and Thomas Kaiser, former strategy consultants at Boston Consulting Group, who identified that financial firms were burdening top talent with rote compliance tasks. The company built an Agentic Compliance platform leveraging specialized Generative AI Agents to identify relevant regulatory updates, analyze policy documents, and automate compliance workflows for regulated industries. Kodex AI was recognized by Meta as one of Europe's top AI startups in 2024 and received investment from Deutsche Bank. In October 2025, Kodex AI was acquired by CUBE, creating a unified compliance, risk, and agentic AI platform. The Berlin-based team had 1–10 employees at time of acquisition.
