KidSave grew out of a 1993 trip Terry Baugh took to Russia to adopt a child, where she encountered an overcrowded orphanage with too few caregivers for the children in its care; that experience led her and co-founder Randi Thompson to found the nonprofit in 1997. KidSave helps older children and teens in foster care and orphanages find permanent families through hosting programs like Summer and Weekend Miracles, family visit models, and international adoption support, with programs reaching children in the U.S., Colombia, and Ukraine.
