The company's lead program targets hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare and potentially life-threatening genetic disease characterized by unpredictable attacks of tissue swelling; its drug EKTERLY (sebetralstat) received FDA approval as the first and only oral on-demand treatment for HAE. With more than 250 employees worldwide spanning research, development, and commercial functions, KalVista expanded its headquarters to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to support its US commercialization efforts.
