Jiraffe

Jiraffe Inc. (株式会社ジラフ) is a Tokyo-based Japanese technology company best known for operating magi, Japan's leading marketplace app dedicated to trading card games (TCGs) and collectible hobbies such as Pokémon cards. Founded by Teruaki Aso, the company's magi platform combines a flea market-style peer-to-peer marketplace with an authentication/grading service to eliminate counterfeit cards and enable safe online transactions. The magi app has grown to handle monthly GMV exceeding ¥500 million (as of late 2022) and the platform is an official PSA dealer for grading services. Beyond the app, Jiraffe operates a growing chain of physical trading card specialty retail stores under the 'Card Shop magi' brand across Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sendai, and other cities) and in Taiwan. The company targets passionate collectors and trading card players, and has received backing from AppWorks, a leading Taiwanese accelerator and VC firm, which describes the global TCG market as valued at approximately US$6 billion.
