About
iQPS (Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space) is a Japanese space startup founded in 2005 by emeritus professors at Kyushu University, with the mission of establishing a thriving space industry in Kyushu, Japan. The company has developed QPS-SAR, a world-class high-resolution small synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite that can observe the Earth day or night and in all weather conditions. iQPS aims to build a constellation of 24 satellites by May 2028 and expand to 36 satellites by 2030, enabling near-real-time Earth observation with an average revisit interval of approximately 10 minutes for any region on the planet. The company is headquartered in Fukuoka, Japan, and collaborates with more than 25 partner companies across northern Kyushu.
