Innovative Aerospace LLC is a Southwick, Massachusetts-based woman-owned small business focused on developing hardware solutions for deep space manned exploration, with particular expertise in Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) and lunar surface EVA equipment. NASA SBIR-funded work includes a Space Boot Binding System for next-generation xEMU spacesuits and a multi-phase program developing Lunar Dust Mitigation Devices (LDMDs) to protect critical PLSS venting components during lunar EVA from electrostatically charged, adhesive lunar dust particles. The Phase II LDMD program involves development of mathematical dust-adherence models in collaboration with Auburn University, prototype fabrication via additive manufacturing, and testing in a simulated charged lunar dust environment. The company's innovations are designed for deployment across NASA's broader Artemis lunar exploration systems.
