Innovalve Bio Medical is an Israeli medical device company founded in 2017 as a spinout from Sheba Medical Center's ARC Innovation program, based in Ramat Gan. Founded by Prof. Ehud Ra'anani and Dr. Boris Orlov of Sheba's Cardiovascular and Thoracic Center, the company developed the Innostay Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement system, an artificial mitral valve implanted via a minimally invasive catheter using a proprietary rotational deployment mechanism, offering an alternative to open-heart surgery for patients with mitral valve disease. Innovalve raised roughly $30 million from investors including ALIVE VC and OurCrowd before being acquired by Edwards Lifesciences for approximately $300 million in July 2024.
