InfraredRx develops a light-based diagnostic platform that uses near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology combined with intuitive software to assess vascular and metabolic health non-invasively and in real time. Based in Athens, Georgia and founded by University of Georgia researchers Kevin McCully, Jonathan Murrow, and Kent Nilsson, the company builds tools for clinicians and researchers to detect conditions like Peripheral Artery Disease early, track health metrics, and reveal physiological data invisible to standard exams. Its product line includes IRX Flow (oxygen delivery measurement) and IRX Studio (muscle mitochondrial analysis), with WalkOn (oxygen consumption) in development. The company is backed by NIH grants, the Georgia Research Alliance, and University of Georgia Innovation.
