About

Impulse Space is an in-space mobility company founded in 2021 by Tom Mueller, SpaceX's founding propulsion engineer and designer of the Merlin and Draco engines. Based in Redondo Beach, California, the company designs and manufactures orbital transfer vehicles (OTVs) — including the Mira and Helios vehicles — that move payloads across and between orbits rapidly, reliably, and affordably. Mira (dishwasher-sized, ~300 kg fueled) made its first flight on SpaceX Transporter-9 in November 2023. Helios is a larger kick stage targeting GEO delivery for SES and other operators. Investors include Founders Fund, Lux Capital, Airbus Ventures, Space Capital, and RTX Ventures. The company raised a $45M Series A in July 2023.
