Ilika

Ilika plc is a UK pioneer of solid-state battery technology for MedTech, Electric Vehicle, and Defence applications. Founded in 2004 as a spin-out from the School of Chemistry at the University of Southampton, the company built commercial partnerships with blue-chip firms including Asahi Kasei, Shell, Applied Materials, Toyota, and Murata. In 2014 it began designing the Stereax family of mm-scale solid-state batteries for medical implants and industrial IoT devices, and in 2018 it started developing the larger-format Goliath solid-state batteries for electric vehicles.
