Accelerator Technologies for Superconducting RF Cavities
Hyperboloid LLC is a Yorktown, Virginia-based R&D company developing high-force spring clamps as a substitute for traditional bolts when connecting superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavities used in particle accelerators. The company's C-shaped spring clamp technology creates vacuum seals while minimizing particulate contamination during assembly in clean room environments — a critical challenge for SRF cavity performance. Additional projects include reducing microphonics in cavities and developing a flowmeter/wattmeter to measure individual cavity heat dissipation. Hyperboloid has received three DOE SBIR awards totaling over $1.1M and collaborates with Jefferson Lab.
