HydroGlyde Coatings develops a durable hydrophilic polymer coating technology for latex condoms that maintains lubricity when wetted with water or aqueous solutions, eliminating the need for supplemental lubricants. Founded by Dr. Stacy Chin, the company's HydroGlyde Coating binds to the latex surface during the manufacturing process and activates with moisture from the wearer's skin. The technology aims to reduce global health challenges of STI transmission and unwanted pregnancy by improving condom comfort and encouraging consistent use. The company has completed Phase I and Phase II SBIR awards from the Department of Health and Human Services and is pursuing FDA 510(k) clearance.
