HVAKR

HVAKR is a cloud-based HVAC design platform built for mechanical engineers, covering the complete design process from load calculations and equipment sizing to duct design and reporting. Two Cal Poly engineers teamed up with two developers in 2019 to build the cloud-native tool after noticing that, while general contractors and other MEP trades had adopted web-based platforms, no one had modernized the engineering work itself. HVAKR is a Techstars 2024 alumnus and its calculations are ASHRAE 62.1 compliant, and the company sells subscription plans to both solo engineers and full mechanical design teams.
