Founded in 1919 in Düsseldorf, Germany by Henry Sonnenberg, the company relocated to the Netherlands and has since expanded to operate in more than 100 countries, comprising 168 companies with 66 manufacturing and 102 assembly and marketing organizations globally. Headquartered in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, with a management office in Lucerne, Switzerland, Hunter Douglas serves both residential and commercial markets with premium window treatment solutions. In February 2022, 3G Capital acquired a controlling 75% interest in Hunter Douglas through a block trade, with the Sonnenberg family retaining 25%. The company employs over 23,000 people worldwide.
