Hoard operated a network of secure locker spots that let people exchange keys and other small items without meeting in person. Airbnb hosts, cleaners, and car-sharing users deposited items at a nearby hoard spot and shared a time-limited smartphone code with the recipient. The Berlin company later expanded into on-demand parcel pickup from partner stores across more than 20 European cities before Norwegian key-exchange startup Sharebox acquired it.
