Heysan

Heysan was a free mobile messaging and community platform founded in early 2007 as part of Y Combinator's Winter 2007 batch. Based in San Francisco, California, Heysan initially provided free messaging between phones and computers by bridging instant messaging with SMS. The service expanded into a mobile community and grew to over one million users generating tens of millions of monthly messages. In the summer of 2007, Heysan raised a seed round from Khosla Ventures and Atomico. Heysan was acquired by Good Technology in May 2009. Founders included Gustaf Alstromer (now a General Partner at Y Combinator), Marie Brattberg, Par Lindhe, and Parham Ossareh.
