Hafeet Rail

Hafeet Rail is a joint venture between Etihad Rail, Oman Rail, and Mubadala Investment Company developing the first cross-border railway network linking the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman. The 238-kilometer rail corridor connects Sohar (Oman) to the UAE's national rail network as Phase I, supporting both freight trains carrying up to 15,000 tons per trip and passenger trains with 350-400 seat capacity traveling at up to 200 km/h. With a total program cost of approximately $2.5 billion and 40% completion as of mid-2026, the project aims to reduce logistics costs, stimulate industrial sectors, and integrate port activities across the Gulf region.
