H3X

H3X Technologies manufactures ultra-high power-density integrated motor drives (IMDs) ranging from 30kW to 1MW+ for aerospace, defense, marine, and heavy industry. Founded in 2020 and a YC Winter 2021 alumnus, H3X's products — including the HPDM-30, HPDM-140, HPDM-250, HPDM-350, and HPDM-500 — combine a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, a SiC inverter, and in some cases a planetary gearbox into a single co-optimized package. The company achieves power densities up to 12 kW/kg continuous and cruise efficiencies as high as 97%, making its motors 3x lighter than comparable competitors. Customers include NASA, the U.S. Air Force, Lockheed Martin, and SailGP.
