H2REMA Sàrl, operating as REMA Hydrogen, manufactures anion-exchange-membrane electrolyzers that produce green hydrogen from tap water and electricity. By combining alkaline electrolyzer cost and robustness with PEM flexibility and power density, its REMA Be2 2.5kW plug-and-play unit produces about 1kg of hydrogen per day for small-scale use. A 50kW REMA We1 unit for industrial sites and refuelling stations is planned for 2027. The Lausanne, EPFL-hosted team is supported by Innosuisse, the Swiss National Science Foundation, and the Migros Pioneer Fund.
