GuruShots

GuruShots was a photography gaming platform that combined mobile gaming mechanics with photography competitions. Founded around 2014, the platform allowed photographers of all skill levels to participate in themed photo challenges, cast votes on others' photos, and earn points and rewards. With nearly 4 billion votes cast monthly across over 400 challenges, GuruShots built a large global community of mobile creators and DSLR photographers. The company gave away over $800,000 in prizes to its community. GuruShots was acquired by Zedge, a content marketplace company, in April 2022 for an undisclosed sum, following a total of approximately $6.5 million in venture funding.
