GS Donghae Electric Power

GS Donghae Electric Power is a South Korean power-generation company that owns and operates the Bukpyeong (Donghae) coal-fired power plant, a 1,190MW ultra-supercritical facility in Donghae, Gangwon Province — the first privately built plant of its kind in Korea. Originally developed as STX Electric Power before becoming a subsidiary of GS E&R, the company supplies electricity to the Korean grid via Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), and GS Group has recently announced plans to build GW-scale AI data centers at the same Gangwon site to leverage the plant's available power capacity.
