GrAsp was a mobile virtual assistant built in 2014 in New York City that helped consumers shop more confidently in physical retail stores. The app synthesized product feedback from the internet and friends to provide simple, location-based advice on whether and where to purchase a product. It aggregated data from multiple sources to surface accurate online and local prices alongside social recommendations, enabling users to quickly evaluate thousands of products without doing the research themselves. The service was shut down in 2016.
