About
Greenwood is a Black-founded, Black-led mobile financial platform inspired by the legacy of the early 1900s Greenwood District — a thriving community where Black wealth recirculated and Black businesses flourished. Founded in 2020 by former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young, rapper-activist Michael 'Killer Mike' Render, and media executive Ryan Glover, Greenwood offers digital checking and savings accounts, a no-hidden-fee Mastercard debit card, early paycheck access, high-interest savings, and commission-free stock and ETF investing. Banking services are provided through Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC. Greenwood also enables roundup donations to community organizations including the NAACP and UNCF, and operates a marketplace connecting Black-owned businesses with customers seeking cash-back rewards for buying Black.
