GoodGuide was a consumer product transparency platform that provided environmental, social, and health ratings for over 120,000 consumer products including food, personal care, toys, and household items. Using data compiled from hundreds of scientific sources, GoodGuide scored products on a 1-10 scale across health, environment, and social performance dimensions. Consumers could research products on the web or via mobile apps, helping them make more informed purchasing decisions. The company was founded by UC Berkeley professor Dara O'Rourke and acquired by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) in 2012.
