Get Maid

Get Maid was a New York City-based on-demand home cleaning startup, often described as the "Uber for maids," that promised customers a vetted, insured maid would arrive within two hours of booking. Co-founded by Steven Gutentag, Demetri Karagas, and CTO Justin Fargione in 2012, the company operated only in the New York market. In May 2014, larger rival Homejoy acquired Get Maid and shut down its standalone service, absorbing its co-founders (excluding Fargione) into Homejoy's New York office.
