Genesis AI is a global physical AI lab and full-stack robotics company founded in December 2024 by Zhou Xian (CMU PhD, creator of the Genesis physics simulator project) and Théophile Gervet (former vision-language model lead at Mistral AI). The company is building generalist robots to unlock unlimited physical labor through three pillars: a scalable data engine fusing real-world robot interaction with high-fidelity physics simulation; an open-source ecosystem for the robotics field; and robust robot deployments in real-world environments. Genesis AI raised $105M in seed funding backed by Eclipse, Khosla Ventures, Bpifrance, and HSG, with support from Eric Schmidt and Xavier Niel.
