FutureQuest Inc. (operating as Coastal Link / コースタルリンク) is a Japanese maritime technology startup developing a unified digital maritime communication platform called 'Coastal Link.' The platform enables seamless digital communication between all vessels and port facilities — a capability previously considered impossible — contributing to accident prevention, early rescue operations, and the digital transformation (DX) of the maritime domain. FutureQuest promotes interoperability of maritime mobility and addresses connectivity gaps across the 70% of the world's surface covered by ocean, where communications remain fragmented and unreliable. The company has passed the Stage Gate review of Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism SBIR Phase 3 program, and has begun offering VDES testbed consulting services.
