Foursquare is the world's leading independent location technology and data cloud platform. The company powers location data for more than 1,000 enterprise customers and over a million developers globally, including Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Snapchat, Uber, and Twitter/X. Foursquare's platform offers geospatial intelligence through products including Foursquare Places (a comprehensive POI database of 100M+ places), Foursquare Attribution, Foursquare Audience, Foursquare Proximity, and Foursquare Studio (a spatial analytics workbench). Originally launched in 2009 as a consumer check-in app, Foursquare pivoted to an enterprise B2B model and separated its consumer app (Swarm) from its business operations. The City Guide consumer app was sunset in December 2024. Today Foursquare is focused entirely on enterprise geospatial intelligence, helping brands, agencies, and developers understand how people move through the physical world in real time.
