Fisker Automotive was an American electric vehicle manufacturer founded in 2007 by Danish automotive designer Henrik Fisker and business partner Bernhard Koehler. The company designed and produced the Fisker Karma, a plug-in hybrid luxury sports sedan. After facing production setbacks including the bankruptcy of battery supplier A123 Systems, Fisker Automotive filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2013. Its assets were subsequently acquired by Wanxiang Group and became the foundation for Karma Automotive.
