About
Fanhattan (later rebranded as Fan TV) was a universal content discovery platform that aggregated movies and TV shows from streaming services including Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, and Crackle into a single interface. The company launched an iPad app in 2011, later expanding to iPhone and Android. In 2013 it introduced a dedicated set-top box to compete with cable providers. Fanhattan was acquired by Rovi Corporation in November 2014, which intended to pitch the Fan TV hardware to cable operators but subsequently discontinued the Fan TV device program in 2015.
