ESG Solutions provides customized subsurface diagnostic solutions and actionable data for energy, mining, and geotechnical operations worldwide. The company grew out of Queen’s University research in Kingston, Ontario, and was formed in 1993 as Engineering Seismology Group Canada Inc. to identify, locate, and control microseismic activity. It later applied that mining expertise to oil and gas, pioneering commercial hydraulic-fracture imaging around 2000, monitoring enhanced oil recovery in Western Canada’s oil sands from 2002, and installing large field-wide and mine monitoring systems internationally. Today ESG offers downhole and surface microseismic diagnostics, including work on carbon capture, enhanced oil recovery, water injection, and underground storage, after being acquired by Deep Imaging in 2021.
