EndoShunt Medical

EndoShunt Medical is a Chicago, Illinois-based medical device startup developing a minimally invasive endovascular shunting device for rapid, targeted hemorrhage control in trauma surgery. Founded in 2022 by CEO Tyler Zanon and co-founders who emerged from a Vanderbilt University program pairing medical professionals with engineers, EndoShunt addresses the critical unmet need of abdominal bleeding control, which contributes to nearly 2 million deaths annually. The device is a Class II 510(k) endovascular tool that provides temporary, length-adjustable shunting within the aorta or inferior vena cava, enabling blood to bypass abdominal vessel injuries while maintaining continuous systemic perfusion — demonstrated to control hemorrhage in under 15 seconds across 17 preclinical studies. After graduating from the mHUB 2023 MedTech Accelerator, the company secured seed investment and announced a research partnership with Houston Methodist.
