EatWell is a Boston-based Food is Medicine company that creates prescription meal kits to treat food insecurity, prevent diabetes, and reduce healthcare spending. Founded in 2017 by Dan Wexler and Kevin Hall, Harvard School of Public Health graduates, EatWell partners with health insurers and ACO programs — such as MassHealth's Flexible Services program — who purchase meal kits as a clinical intervention for eligible patients. All meal kits are produced in Dorchester, MA at CommonWealth Kitchen by team members hired from food-insecure communities, and include fast recipes, fresh ingredients, and culinary education resources developed with a Michelin-trained chef. The company's model targets health payors, providers, and food-insecure families, positioning nutritious food delivery as a preventive healthcare tool.
