D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NYSE: QBTS) is a quantum computing company that claims to be the world's first to sell computers exploiting quantum effects, specializing in quantum annealing hardware and software. Founded in 1999 by Haig Farris, Geordie Rose, Bob Wiens and Alexandre Zagoskin as a University of British Columbia offshoot, D-Wave has developed systems including the D-Wave One, Advantage, and Advantage2, serving customers such as Lockheed Martin, Google/NASA, and Los Alamos National Laboratory, and offers gate-model quantum technology following its acquisition of Quantum Circuits, Inc.
