Social analytics for publishers and researchers
CrowdTangle was a social media analytics and content discovery platform that enabled publishers, researchers, academics, and journalists to track and analyze public content performance across Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and other major social networks. Originally founded in 2012, the company was acquired by Facebook in 2016 and became a key tool for understanding viral content and misinformation trends. CrowdTangle provided API access and a dashboard interface for monitoring public page and group activity at scale. Meta shut down the platform on August 14, 2024, replacing it with the Meta Content Library.
