By analyzing real-time banking behavior through open banking APIs, Credit Kudos provided lenders with enriched affordability and creditworthiness assessments as an alternative to conventional credit bureau scores. The company was founded in 2015 and became notable for applying open banking data to underwriting. In March 2022, Credit Kudos was acquired by Apple for approximately $150 million, with its technology believed to underpin Apple's buy-now-pay-later and financial services offerings. The company no longer operates as an independent entity.
