Corsair Capital is a specialized global private equity and infrastructure investment firm founded in 1992, originally as a pioneering private equity practice within J.P. Morgan & Co. The firm became independent and partner-owned in 2006, and currently manages approximately $10 billion in assets under management as of December 2025. Corsair focuses exclusively on financial and business services industries, operating two primary strategies: Buyouts (control investments in technology, services, and distribution segments within financial services) and Infrastructure (value-added platform investing launched in 2015). Since December 2023, a portion of its AUM is attributable to a strategic partnership with Investcorp. The firm employs 43 professionals complemented by 18 advisors and operating partners, with an average partner tenure of 21 years. Corsair has led over $11 billion in investments across its platforms since inception. The firm is headquartered in New York and has a London office.
