CoreSite is a carrier-neutral data center and colocation provider operating 27+ facilities across 10 major U.S. metro markets (including Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Northern Virginia, San Francisco/Silicon Valley, Santa Clara, Atlanta, Orlando, and Washington D.C.) totaling over 4.6 million net rentable square feet. The company provides hybrid IT infrastructure — colocation, interconnection, and cloud on-ramp services — that let enterprises, network operators, and cloud providers connect directly to each other and to major public cloud platforms within CoreSite's facilities. CoreSite began in 2001 as CRG West, a Carlyle Group portfolio company built to serve interconnection-heavy customers at flagship carrier hotels like One Wilshire (LA) and 55 South Market (San Jose), rebranded as CoreSite in 2009, and went public on the NYSE (ticker COR) via a $270M IPO in September 2010. In December 2021, CoreSite was acquired by American Tower Corporation for roughly $10.1 billion and now operates as a subsidiary of American Tower, serving over 1,350 customers across its interconnection-dense campuses.
