Objective, real-time pain measurement through AI-driven wearable sensors
CereVu Medical is developing an AI-driven wearable sensor that enables continuous monitoring of routine vital signs (heart rate, SpO₂, respiratory rate), body activity, and coughing dynamics, along with novel biomarkers for objective assessment of pain and dyspnea (air hunger). The device uses a forehead-worn single-use patch and a reusable monitoring console, applying proprietary cerebral optical spectrometry and algorithms (ROPA) to deliver a continuous pain score unique to each patient. Pain impacts more than 50 million Americans annually at a cost exceeding $750 billion per year, yet no objective tools currently exist to assess it accurately in clinical settings.
