Cellivate Technologies Gift City

Cellivate Technologies is a biotechnology spin-off from the National University of Singapore, founded in 2019 by Dr. Viknish Krishnan-Kutty. The company develops and commercializes proprietary products and technologies that solve the bottlenecks faced by cell-based companies at different stages of the value chain. Its core product, BOOSTER, is an animal-free, extracellular vesicle (EV)-based media supplement designed to replace fetal bovine serum (FBS) in cell culture applications. BOOSTER provides controlled EV-mediated signalling, reducing batch-to-batch variability and enabling more reproducible, ethical, and scalable cell culture. The technology is translatable to multiple cell culture applications including cultivated meat, cosmetics, and leather. Cellivate's solutions allow cell-based companies to accelerate and solidify their processes at lower costs while eliminating reliance on animal-derived serum. The company raised a $1 million seed round in 2024.
