CareMedic Systems

CareMedic Systems, founded in 1996 and headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, provided revenue cycle management and regulatory compliance software for hospitals. In 1997 it launched its flagship product, giving customers real-time direct-entry access to Medicare, later expanding into a comprehensive suite of RCM solutions used by hospitals nationwide. Backed by investors including Oak HC/FT (via Health Enterprise Partners), the company was acquired by Ingenix (later rebranded Optum/OptumInsight) on November 10, 2009, becoming part of UnitedHealth Group's health information technology business. Its Delaware corporate entity was later withdrawn (2012), confirming it no longer operates independently.
