About
broadcast.com was one of the first Internet radio and streaming media companies, founded in 1995 when Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner invested in and took over Cameron Audio Networks, renaming it AudioNet. In 1998 rebranded as broadcast.com and completed a record-breaking IPO with stock soaring 250% on its first day. At its peak, broadcast.com streamed 448 radio stations and 65 TV stations. In April 1999, Yahoo acquired broadcast.com for approximately $5.7 billion in stock — Yahoo's most expensive acquisition ever. Yahoo discontinued the service in 2002.
