BrightPath Biotherapeutics Co., Ltd. is a Tokyo-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel cancer immunotherapies using iPSC-derived Natural Killer T (NKT) cell technology. Originally established in May 2003 as GreenPeptide in Kurume, Fukuoka, the company changed its name to BrightPath Biotherapeutics in 2017 and is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (code: 4594). Its lead program, iPS-NKT, is an allogeneic cell therapy agent that uses NKT cells induced from induced pluripotent stem cells for cancer treatment, with an active Phase I clinical trial in head and neck cancer; the company is also advancing CAR-T cell therapy pipeline candidates including BP2202 targeting BCMA. BrightPath has partnered with Cellistic for process development and manufacturing of its iPSC-derived CAR-iNKT cell therapy for Phase I clinical trials.
