BiovelocITA is Italy's first biotech accelerator, founded in partnership with European life sciences investor Sofinnova Partners to bridge early-stage Italian biomedical research and commercial biotech company formation. The accelerator licenses or options high-potential pre-clinical projects from Italian universities and research centers, then provides the scientific, managerial, and financial resources needed to reach proof-of-concept and Series A readiness. BiovelocITA's portfolio includes Enthera Pharmaceuticals — a clinical-stage company targeting inflammatory bowel disease and Type 1 diabetes — and Alia Therapeutics, a gene-editing spinout from the University of Trento.
