About
BEI (Bei Lab) is a South Korean battery company commercializing lighter, safer and more powerful lithium metal batteries for a greener future. Its mission is to lead in high-energy-density lithium metal cells, using innovative materials and processes to deliver safe, high-performance and affordable solutions for a decarbonized world. Founded by CEO Josiah (Changdeuck) Bae with co-founder and CTO David (YoungJin) Yoon, the team of 35-plus draws on advanced lithium-ion cell engineering and manufacturing expertise, with many staff from large LIB OEMs experienced in gigawatt-hour factories. Headquarters and a lithium-metal-battery pilot factory are in Ansan, with North American business development and R&D and customer engagement in Japan.
