Banma Network

Banma Network Technology (also known as Zebra Zhixing) is a connected car operating system provider founded in 2015 and headquartered in Shanghai, China. Established as a joint venture between Alibaba Group and SAIC Motor, the company developed the 'Banma' in-vehicle operating system that powers China's first internet-connected car, the Roewe. The platform delivers augmented reality navigation, human-machine interaction, internet connectivity and services within vehicles, and automates core vehicle functions including engine start, vehicle diagnostics, lighting controls, and seat adjustment. Banma has expanded its offerings to include AI voice control, autonomous navigation assistance, and a broad suite of connected car services for automotive OEM partners across China. The company has raised $698 million across two funding rounds and achieved unicorn status with a valuation of $1 billion as of its 2021 Series B. Alibaba Group, SAIC Motor, SDIC, and Yunfeng Capital are among its key investors.
