BANIAS LABS

Banias Labs was an Israeli semiconductor company headquartered in Hod Hasharon, founded in 2020, that developed coherent optical DSP (digital signal processing) chips used in high-speed data center interconnects. Operating largely in stealth mode, the company built core optical DSP technology later folded into Alphawave IP Group's connectivity roadmap. In October 2022, Alphawave acquired 100% of Banias Labs' shares for approximately US$240 million in cash, citing the technology's fit with a fast-growing market for coherent optical connectivity in hyperscale data centers.
