Avant Meats develops sustainable, scalable cell-cultivation processes to produce authentic, nutritious fish products and marine proteins without catching fish from the wild. Carrie partnered with biotech expert Dr. Mario Chin to create what the company describes as a better, kinder way to produce animal protein, including cultivated fish and Zellulin, a cell-based functional protein ingredient for skincare. Avant presents itself as China's first cultivated marine protein biotechnology company and has announced more than US$10.8 million of investment led by S2G Ventures to commercialize these products.
